ALLISON ABBATE

  Animation producer

Allison Abbate has been producing Animated Features for over ten years and has been involved with some of the most innovative and critically acclaimed films of the last decade. A graduate of Brown University, she got her start at Walt Disney Feature Animation, working on traditionally animated films such as “The Rescuers Down Under” and the Oscar nominated Mickey Mouse short “Runaway Brain.” She also had the opportunity to work with Tim Burton as the artistic coordinator of “The Nightmare Before Christmas” – the first feature-length stop-motion animated film.

In 1996 she joined the team at Warner Bros to produce the animation for “Space Jam,” which combined traditional animation with CGI and Live Action elements. Her next film was the critically acclaimed “Iron Giant.” This adaptation of Ted Hughes’ classic story featured a seamless marriage of traditional 2D animation with a computer-generated character and won the BAFTA for Best Children’s film in 1999. Abbate then went on to produce the animation for “Looney Tunes Back in Action” working with Director Joe Danté to give Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck another adventure in a Live Action world.

In 2004, Abbate returned to the world of stop motion animation and teamed up with Tim Burton again, to produce the 2005 Oscar nominated “Corpse Bride.” She is presently living in London and producing the “Fantastic Mr. Fox” with Wes Anderson and Scott Rudin.
